Red House, 102 Cator Lane, Chilwell, NG9 4BB

The Red House is one of the historic buildings of Chilwell, built as a farmhouse for part of the Charlton estate in 1850 and extended by famous Nottingham architect Watson Fothergill in 1890. The garden is arranged in ‘rooms’ around the house, and has a wonderful selection of mature trees, shrubs and flowers alongside many new additions, including a restored kitchen garden, a knot garden and a mature rose garden. We even have our own well!

The Red House is gardened by Garden Trail organisers Ian and Maggie Paul, and is the Trail’s unofficial HQ. It is a great place to buy your tickets and start the Trail.
