When we moved in a couple of years ago, our garden was a blank canvas. Since then, I’ve discovered a passion for gardening, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to watch the space evolve into something vibrant and full of life.
Today, it’s filled with a wide variety of flowering perennials woven together in a ‘cottage garden’ style. We really value wildlife, so I’ve incorporated lots of features with that in mind, and even areas where ‘gardening’ is kept to a minimum in favour of a more relaxed, wildlife-friendly approach.
What I hope may inspire others is that it has been created on a limited budget, making the most of existing features. I hope it shows others – especially new homeowners – some of what can be achieved with a bit of creativity and patience, even in a modest space.
- Refreshments: None – however, The Doughmother bakery is right near the garden and does excellent coffee and pastries, making it well worth the trip.
- Parking: Lots of street parking available (no permits).
- Accessibility: Accessible. Plenty of width for a pushchair or wheelchair.
- Chosen Charity: Forever Stars
