We Dig NG9 wildlife verge NG9 1DZ

We Dig NG9 adopted this small roadside verge in 2014 to ‘guerrilla garden’ it for nature. An agreement with the Local Authority was made to cease mowing and spraying. Since then, its founder, Tamar, has introduced native hedgerow plants, fruit trees, bulbs, a dead hedge, a woodpile, and native wildflowers. A large ‘Bug Squat’, and numerous bird nestboxes were alos made from reclaimed materials by a group of fellow volunteers. New signage by a local artist is next in the pipeline.

  • This space is unmanned and does not require a ticket – it is visible from public realm.
  • Full accessibility.
  • Plenty of roadside parking.
